San Francisco Fieldtrip

If you only have an hour or two to spend in San Francisco you have to visit the Ferry Building Marketplace. http://www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com/ All of the food here is varied and fabulous.  When we have the kids with us we always eat at Gott's (formerly Taylor's Automatic Refresher.) They have really great hamburgers and salads.  My favorite is their sweet potato fries they are so good and no one else in my family gets the appeal so I get them all to myself!  Once you have your meal you can move on to gelato at Ciao Bella or pastries at Miette Patisserie then stroll through the marketplace and peruse all the quaint stalls and stores while you munch. If you are feeling adventurous you can catch a ferry and motor over to Sausalito or just find an empty bench and watch the sailboats glide by.
